We are a group of concerned social work students and alumni that are working to create a better experience for all social workers. Across the nation, social work students at accredited universities are required to participate in 900 hours at their field placements, which are comparable to internships. These are almost always unpaid experiences and students are required to pay the tuition for the associated 14 credits they receive. We seek to change this system.
This group originated at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Below you will find results from a survey we sent out to the students there. We think it perfectly explains why we are doing what we are doing.
